Elad Lassry

I don't think that I could ever have imagined a time that I would be encouraging people to look at images of cats. The are usually the epitome of bad photography, sweet and syrupy the stuff of nightmares. However I think these particular images by Elad Lassry are mesmerising. Perhaps because they question or set us a puzzle about object photography or just the way we look at objects or just because they are strange I find it difficult to know; the colour alone is interesting. For whatever reason I think his work is worth looking at, I found it difficult to find a web page so the link is for White Cube the gallery he is attached to http://whitecube.com/artists/elad_lassry/ . If you would like to see the green image here you can see it at the Nottingham Contemporary along with some other great objects in a show called The Universal Adressability of Dumb Things. The show is curated by Mark Leckey and runs until June 30th. You can find deatils at http://www.nottinghamcontemporary.org/events/whaton .
