Kedleston Hall

It wasn't the easiest day at Kedleston Hall, a flat grey sky and persistent drizzle are difficult to cope with. However the house was a revelation really grand and beautiful. I did take more photographs than this but I was really taken with these figures and the way that they were lit, it made them look so graphic, really tonal and very pencil drawing. It was enhanced by using my camera at 800 iso which made it quite grainy.

On-line Photography Magazines

There are so many on-line photo magazines that it's difficult to sort out the wheat from the chaff, sometimes, as in this case it comes down to recommendation from someone else; in this case J.M Colberg recommending this new on-line magazine Timemachine http://timemachinemag.com/ .
It is a very American magazine and perhaps this might be something that ultimately works against it. There is no doubt that photography looks good on the net but seeing real photographs has so much more appeal I wonder about what these would look like when viewed, will they still have the same quality and power?
Having said that I particularly liked this short film by Zoe Strauss about a project she is involved in which exhibits photographs in an underpass http://timemachinemag.com/2011/06/08/zoe-strauss-under-the-freeway-via-usaartists/
